Asus Eee PC S101 Review
The Asus Eee PC S101 is a stunning netbook, and shows Asus’s dedication to moving away from the bland white, ‘plasticy’ designs we are used to seeing from them. The s101 Eee PC is a part of the new range of Premium netbooks.
Asus have called the S101 their slimline netbook, and they are not far off. It is super thin, with every corner rounded and every edge tucked away to give it a sleek and modern look. It also weighs only 1.1kg, so weight will not be an issue. The cover has gone the glossy route, and lines are covered in faux-chrome to add to the sheen. This is continued on the inside around the screen. The keyboard is a decent size and the keys are well spaced allowing you to type for ages. The mousepad works great and is very responsive.
The main selling point of the Asus Eee PC S101 is the looks and shnazzy design. Under the hood, it is similar to most netbooks. With 1GB RAM, 32GB Storage, Intel Atom powered and using Microsoft XP. You will also get 18 months free Eee Storage online of an extra 20GB.
Internet is pretty good, with bluetooth, ethernet and wifi.
Overall the S101 Asus is a fantastic netbook. it looks unbelievably slick, and the build quality is excellent. However after all is said and done, it is still has the basic netbook spec’s, while having a premium price. If you just want a netbook for its portability and functions, dont get this one. If however you want to stand out from the crowd and wow them the beauty and stylish looks, then perhaps search around for that extra cash to get this guy.
