Asus stop making original Netbook

Asus have announced that they are going to stop production on its original netbook, the Asus eee PC. This was technically the first Netbook ever made, and is what started the entire global netbook craze. The Asus eee pc was a tiny 7 inch and was originally made for third world and emerging countries. It was also ridiculously cheap, at less than £200, which was completely unheard of back then (that was only 2008 mind you).
Asus have said that they may still make a few for the emerging markets, but full-on manufacturing is going to be slowing and then stopping completely.

You can see how far Asus have come by looking at some of their latest Netbooks, like the Asus eee PC 1000H-WHI.

Asus, thanks for netbooks and eee pc…farewell!
