Disney NetPal

As we spoke about a few weeks ago, the Disney Netbook has now been confirmed as real and to start shipping in July.
It looks like Disney has partnered with Asus to make it, and it will be called the NetPal…cute.
As we spoke about before it is a netbook made for kids. The specs are pretty standard: 8.9 inch screen, Intel Atom, 16GB SSD storage and will run Windows XP. The NetPal will be available in either  Princess Pink or Magic Blue with Micky Mouse pics. However, not to be just a re-branded Asus, the NetPal will run custom Disney software on top of the OS, and offers some unique features like a Radio Disney widget, a Disney browser and parental control software.

Laptopmag have a video review of the NatPal, and reckon it looks very similar to the Eee PC 1008HA. The Disney NetPal will be available in 21 countries (Asia, Europe and N/America) and will be priced around $350 (£235).

This is a great idea from Asus, netbooks make an excellent first computer for children. I’m pretty sure this will do well at Christmas. Great website Marc!
